This is a blog about raising jazzy kids (Queenie and Bird) and self discovery. It’s about helping them find their pathes while not loosing sight of my own along the way (it’s easy to do while raising kids).

I’m a lover of children’s literature and the written word. I write from the perspective of someone raised in a multi-divorce family, now facing the joys and challenges of my own marriage; determined to create a more stable foundation than the one I grew up on. I try to live life relying on the grace of God, the benevolence of others and the inability to sit still. The result of which I hope renders interesting reading material for you.

This blog also touches on issues encountered in a bi-racial (Chinese/American) family and the deep desire to raise our kids as global citizens. It is a journey of overcoming obstacles—brought on by extra-curricular activities, middle-of-the-night wakings and general, parent-brain atrophy—blocking the path to becoming a better writer. In short, this blog, (like all of us)  is a work in”process.”

If you choose to follow Growing Muses (and I hope you will) you can expect one or two posts a month (sometimes more, sometimes less; depending on the muses’ gifts).

I also actively manage and contribute to World Moms Blog so if you’re looking for some international parent perspectives…you can join me there as well.
